واشنطن تعلن رسميا : 15 يوليوز يوم “المغرب”

اعلن عمدة العاصمة الامريكية واشنطن انه اعتبارا من هذه السنة سيعتبر رسميا 15 يوليوز يوم ” المغرب ” Morocco_Day نظرا للعلاقات التاريخية المتميزة بين البلدين .

وسيكون هذا اليوم مناسبة للاحتفال بتراث المغرب وثقافته وفنه .

Washington mayor, Muriel Bowser, proclaimed July 15 as Morocco Day, according to an official decision shared on Twitter.

This move is the fruit of strong diplomatic relations between the US and Morocco.

The decision stated that the Kingdom of Morocco was one of the first countries in the world to recognize the United States of America’s independence.

“Both nations share the longest unbroken diplomatic relationship in the history of our country, maintained by the Moroccan-American Treaty of peace and friendship,” said the same source.

“Washington is the proud home to the kingdom of Morocco’s official US Embassy, as well as thousands of Moroccans who share their culture and traditions with their neighbors and friends,” added the decision.

“Moroccans have made rich contributions to the district of Columbia’s economy, educational institutions, and cultural mosaic,” according to the same source.

“Morocco Day is an opportunity to celebrate Moroccan heritage, culture, arts, entrepreneurship, and scholarship.”

Washington’s mayor has chosen July, as according to her, some of the most important annual Moroccan festivities take place during that month, including the Feast of the Throne.

The proclamation called on all Washingtonians to join in honoring and recognizing the abundance of contributions of Moroccan-Americans in Washington as well as around the country.
