Sent to New Orleans to care for an aging stroke victim (John Hurt) who lies bedridden and speechless in a rambling antebellum mansion, 25-year-old hospice worker Caroline (Kate Hudson) discovers a key that unlocks ancient secrets. Alone in the house with no company aside from the man’s unfriendly wife (Gena Rowlands), Caroline eventually comes across a hidden room.
