How to Make a Tequila Sunrise

This classic drink has inspired a #1 song, an Oscar-nominated movie, and countless bleary-eyed encounters with the real sunrise.

Step 1: Fill with ice
Fill the highball glass with ice.

Step 2: Pour in tequila
Pour in 1½ oz. of tequila.

Step 3: Add triple sec
Add ½ oz. triple sec.

Step 4: Add orange juice
1 ½ oz. of orange juice, and stir.

Step 5: Pour grenadine
In one quick motion, tilt the glass and pour ½oz. of grenadine down the side. It should go straight to the bottom and then rise up slowly through the drink.

Step 6: Garnish
Garnish with a cherry, orange slice, and swizzle stick.

Tip
For an artistic touch, arrange your cherry and orange slice to look like a rising sun.

Step 7: Serve
Serve, and prepare to greet the dawn.
