Every year more workers die attempting rescues in confined spaces than victims of confined space accidents. Enclosed or partially enclosed areas can be deadly. Employers and workers must be aware of the hazards of confined spaces.

Incidents in confined spaces are not common, but they can happen suddenly and when they do occur the consequences can be devastating. Employers must take the necessary steps to ensure worker safety around confined spaces.
